ITS is on the move throughout the world. A lot of national ITS organizations are working closely together for the benefit of their members. To extend the development of cooperation the initiative is taken to create the ITS World Forum (IWF). A forum for national ITS organizations only and also run by the national ITS organizations themselves. So it is not a commercial initiative but a initiative form the ITS Organizations themselves.

The start of the IWF is foreseen during the ITS World Congress in Stockholm. There is already press interest to this event. During this meeting a temporary board will be installed on order to prepare the first plenary which will take place in 2010. During the plenary a board will be elected, the statutes will be discussed and discussion will take place about content, topics and next steps. From October 25-29 2010. Busan (Korea) will be host of the 17th ITS World Congress. The main topic of the congress will be Ubiquitous Society with ITS. Within CiViTAS ELAN project it is necessary to conduct certain evaluation activities for all 13 measures which are going to be implemented. One of the measures that will be implemented/demonstrated  is the measure 8.2 Public transport priority and traveler information. In order to do a successful evaluation of work being done and to evaluate actual results (impact) of the measure it is necessary to collect the data about traffic flow performances to determine "before ELAN" situation. On PMG meeting which took place in Zagreb (more information here) professor Hrvoje Gold, D.Sc. has presented the innovative approaches to the data collection preformed within this measure.
